The restoration and reuse of the original woodwork and the recovery of fragments of the hydraulic tile flooring are not only a tribute to the craftsmanship of the past, but also a statement of intent to minimize environmental impact. The decision to expose the building’s mixed structure, with its sturdy brick pillars, concrete slabs and wooden beams, not only honors structural integrity, but also eliminates the need to add superfluous elements.

The interior design, prioritizing natural light, the relationship between spaces, and the quality in the execution of details, creates a warm and sophisticated atmosphere. The flexibility of use and comfort are the result of a work carried out empathetically and meticulously with the owners.

The challenge of designing a lightweight staircase assembled piece by piece is an exercise that demonstrates that functionality and aesthetics can be achieved without compromising the existing structure. This conscious approach minimizes waste and environmental impact, demonstrating that respect for the existing and the reuse of original elements is the most direct route to sustainable construction.

This project not only redefines a livable space, but also sets a new standard in conscious renovation and historic preservation. It is a manifesto of how contemporary architecture can dialogue with history, optimizing resources and minimizing waste.

A home that fuses serenity, balance and timelessness.
